JAE Group Privacy Policy

The protection of your privacy is important to us, and we are committed to acting in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020.

Who we are

JG Licensing Limited (JGLL), of 42B Tawa Drive, Albany, Auckland, New Zealand, a New Zealand company providing flood and fire restoration, carpet cleaning, pest control, upholstery cleaning, stain treatments and other related services throughout New Zealand; and  

JAE Group Incorporated (JGI) an incorporated society of 42B Tawa Drive, Albany, Auckland, New Zealand; (together, “We/our”).

Our individual JAE branches are also required to follow the terms and conditions of this Privacy Policy.

Purpose for collecting your information

We collect, hold, use and share your personal information for providing services to you, including (if applicable) insurance-related work.

We may collect personal information directly from you or indirectly from third parties where permitted by law.

The types of information we may collect include your name, contact details, address, insurance claim information, payment information, property information, photographs, correspondence and details relating to the services we provide.

Where applicable, we also collect, hold, use and share your personal information so that we can comply with legislation that applies to us. We may disclose personal information where this is necessary for providing our services, authorised by you, reasonably connected to the purposes for which the information was collected, or otherwise permitted or required by law.

We collect personal information for purposes including providing services to you, communicating with you, processing insurance-related work, managing accounts and payments, improving our services, marketing our services where permitted by law, complying with legal obligations, resolving disputes, and protecting our lawful interests.

Who we may give your information to or obtain it from

We are the intended recipients of your information along with our individually owned JAE branches and related entities. We may also give your information to, and obtain it from, others, including:

  • insurers, insurance brokers or representatives that you consented to act on your behalf
  • third-party service providers, suppliers or repairers who undertake our services on our behalf, or on behalf of your insurer
  • property managers, landlords, tenants, body corporates, builders, assessors, emergency service providers, referral partners, contractors or other parties connected with the services we provide
  • other third-party service providers, such as mailing houses, payment service providers, software providers, market researchers or lawyers
  • government and law enforcement agencies
  • external dispute resolution schemes

Where we collect personal information about you from a third party rather than directly from you, we will take reasonable steps to notify you of that collection in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020.

Information from you or about you may be stored physically or electronically, including in offshore facilities, by:

  • JGLL, JGI or one of their JAE branch entities
  • your insurer
  • any supplier (with whom we have a contracted arrangement).

Where your information is stored physically or electronically outside New Zealand, we take reasonable steps to ensure that the holder of the information are subject to privacy protections that provide safeguards comparable to those under New Zealand privacy law.

We take reasonable safeguards to protect personal information against loss, unauthorised access, use, modification, disclosure, or misuse.

We may use cookies, website analytics tools, and similar technologies on our websites to improve website functionality, analyse website traffic, and enhance user experience.

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary for business, insurance, legal, regulatory, and operational purposes.

Where you provide us with personal information about any other person, you confirm that you have their authority to both:

  • disclose their personal information
  • authorise us to collect, hold, use and share the information in accordance with this privacy policy.
