Cockroaches are resilient, fast-moving pests that thrive in warm, humid environments, particularly in kitchens, bathrooms, and behind appliances. They carry bacteria and allergens that can trigger asthma and cause food contamination. Spotting even one cockroach in your home is often a sign of a larger hidden population.

Cockroaches breed quickly and hide in warm, moist harbourage areas behind appliances, in cupboards, around drains, and inside wall cavities, so visible insects almost always indicate a much larger hidden population. Surface sprays alone rarely solve the problem because the bulk of the colony stays out of contact with the chemical.

JAE’s approach combines a thorough inspection to map harbourage areas with the careful placement of gel baits inside cracks, crevices, and behind appliances where cockroaches feed and shelter. The bait is carried back to the harbourage, taking out the wider population over a short period. Where infestations are heavy, we pair the baits with residual sprays around skirting boards, plumbing penetrations, and drains.

Our technician will also identify the conditions supporting the infestation — leaking pipes, food debris, cardboard storage — and explain what to change so the cockroaches don’t re-establish. Most treatments deliver a noticeable drop in activity within a week and a clear-out within a few weeks.
