Carpet Moths

Carpet moths are a lesser-known but destructive pest. Their larvae feed on natural fibres including wool, silk, and feathers, meaning wool carpets, rugs, and upholstery are particularly vulnerable. Damage often appears in low-traffic areas such as under furniture or along skirting boards, and may not be noticed until it becomes significant.

JAE can treat affected carpets and rugs with specialist insecticide applications to interrupt the lifecycle and prevent further damage.

Carpet moths and their larvae attack wool carpets, rugs, and natural-fibre fabrics, often working unseen along skirting boards, under furniture, and at the edges of rooms. The damage typically appears as threadbare patches and is frequently mistaken for normal wear before the source is identified. A single infestation can spread quickly to other natural-fibre items in the home.

JAE inspects the carpets and surrounding areas to locate the larvae and adult moths, then treats the affected areas with targeted insecticides safe for use on carpet fibre. The treatment addresses both the visible adults and the larvae hidden in the pile and under furniture, breaking the lifecycle.
