Ants usually enter homes in search of food or moisture. While most species are more of an annoyance than a direct health risk, some, like the white-footed ant, can be difficult to eradicate without professional treatment. Ant colonies can number in the thousands, meaning DIY sprays often only address the surface problem.

Ants operate in large colonies that can number in the thousands, so the foraging trail you see indoors is almost always a sign of a much larger nest nearby — in the garden, under paving, in wall cavities, or in the ceiling. Supermarket sprays kill the visible ants but rarely reach the queen, which is why DIY treatments tend to provide only short-term relief.

JAE uses targeted ant baits that the workers carry back to the nest, taking out the queen and the wider colony rather than just the surface trail. For species like the white-footed ant, which are notoriously hard to eradicate, we use specific baits formulated to match how they feed. Around the perimeter we apply residual barrier treatments that stop new ants getting back inside.
